Heavy Vehicle accidents

One of the things I have noticed when I have lived in different countries around the world is the overall attitude of drivers on the roads and highways, and in particular, long distance truck drivers. For example; in Australia many tragic road accidents are caused by truck drivers attempting to travel with deliveries from Queensland to Victoria, or South Australia, in times set by the contractors that are just ridiculous. No driver of a heavy goods vehicle should be asked to drive distances of over 2000 km’s and reach a destination within a time frame of 8-9 hours…it is just asking for trouble!
But this kind of thing is the case in many countries and the USA counts many trucking accidents every year because of the impractical expectations placed on interstate and long distance truck drivers by employers. Whilst the law is doing all it can to stop this kind of thing what happens when YOU, or someone you love, are a victim of an overtired and exhausted truck driver who fell asleep at the wheel of his rig?
In the USA you at least have the option of contacting an Austin Texas trucking accident lawyer representing a Law Firm highly specialised in accidents involving trucks. Don’t just be under the impression that trucking accidents involving the public are simply a by-product of driver fatigue or drivers taking speed…often road conditions contribute to trucking accidents; weather conditions affecting the roads and vehicle maintenance as well. To be adequately compensated you need an expert in this field as your representation…there may be more to your case than you think.

Compensation advancement with lawsuits
December 31, 2007 on 8:17 pm | In Finance | No CommentsOne of the drawbacks of taking a claim to court is the actual time you have to spend doing such. You nearly always have to take time off work and another thing is that not only do the everyday bills have to be paid but so do your attorneys fees. If this has to come out of your pocket you may find that your cash flow will be severely depleted before you even see one cent of your payout. There are ways around this.
One of the great things about litigation financing is that an assessment is made on the basis that your case will be successful and the funds, based on this, are advanced to you prior to your case being settled. Often very little in the way of personal information needs to be processed for the application and, if your case is unsuccessful, you do not need to repay the funds advanced to you.
The risk is shared you see. This can make a huge difference to the lives of people who are in the middle of litigation; it can be a time consuming and expensive process. But there are options as stated above.

Where to go next…
December 20, 2007 on 11:07 am | In Culture, Miscellaneous | No CommentsOur next big project will be to start organising a trip over to the US and, as usual, we will be using the internet to make all the arrangments. Great innovation this internet is. We like a company that you can use to book pretty much everything from start to finish so Hotel Reservations looks as though they will be handling this next trip of ours. They cover an extensive range of cities, not just in the US but all over the world plus a variety of accommodation options. Very important if you are travelling as a family group. I tend to go for last-minute deals with regards to airfares so I like to know that the company I book through stay right up to date with the current prices.
All being well we should be hitting the ‘book now’ button sometime soon!
