Finding the type of education these days that will suit your kids has become something of a minefield, especially when you have teenagers. There will always be those kids who seem to slot neatly into school, do really well, achieve high results and then go on to do whatever they have set their hearts on. It’s easy for parents when this is the case.

But what happens if your teen does not fall into that ‘easy’ category in more ways than one?. Mainstream school can be a nightmare for kids who have certain personal issues and as parents we worry about their future. The solution used to be to either watch your kid just drop out of education altogether or be isolated in some special class for ‘problem’ teens. A good solution would be to consider a teen boarding school that is designed specifically to assist teenagers who require structure, continuity and a workplan designed for each individual.

If you look at Fenster in Arizona you can get an idea of how successful schools such as these are and could be the answer you have been looking for.  They offer a programme that focuses on each student and their own needs with the emphasis on the two basics; behavioural and academic monitoring.  Their results speak for themselves so consider seriously what your teen needs and taek that step towards securing their education with success.

Planet of the robots

Most of us remember that film, and the TV series, Planet of the Apes. That show where humans trained apes to assist people and then the apes got too smart, rebelled and then took over the planet and Man ended up being the one’s in cages doing tricks for banana’s. I am wondering how long it will be before this really becomes reality; not with apes telling us what to do though, but rather robots.

Toyota in Japan already utilise robot-ppower in it’s technology and in their car production plants. I spoke recently about the robot that dental students use there to practise their skills on, the one that goes ‘ouch!’. Now they have developed a robot that plays the violin for entertainment in nursing homes.

Not only this, but they have robots that help around the house and the office as well. Maybe this will be great news for housewives…

The Japanese have a tendency towards longevity and this is causing a rapid labour shortgage  for employment. So, robots seem to be the workforce for the future in Japan. How would you like to have your dinner cooked by R2D2?.
