Most of us make a list of New Years resolutions and, to be quite honest, most of us have forgotten about them by the end of the first week of January. Maybe one of your resolutions for 2008 has been to get going on marketing that fantastic idea that has been sitting at the back of your mind for so long now. Maybe 2008 will be the year you finally get going on starting off your own business and being your own boss…there’s nothing better.
Most people starting off with their own business, either an online one or ‘mainstream’, will be looking for a financial package to get them off the ground. Not all of us have large reserves of cash to begin with, but if you do have some cash reserves, I advise you to save them for your much needed cash-flow in the early days, and look to finance your setting up situation. What you will be wanting in this case is a small business loan that provides an easy process with the backup of fast funding, and not to forget the excellent service that you will be requiring as a business client.
Don’t wait any longer…make that New Year’s resolution a reality now!

Trying to conserve energy?
January 7, 2008 on 8:03 pm | In Culture | No CommentsLike most people we are into conserving energy we use around the home. Not just for environmental reasons but simply because of the everyday cost of electricity. For instance, we now make more use of the fireplace to warm up the house at night but I suppose doing just that we are adding to all those emissions into the atmosphere…so what happens when you think you are doing the right thing but really are not?
Those ’energy saving’ lightbulbs are now hitting the news because of their own little repercussions. In short, these things are minature fluro’s. Experts now claim they emit levels of mercury which can upset people who suffer from migranes and cause dizziness. Also, they can cause people with eczema to suffer flareups.
Now we are being told that if one hits the floor and breaks we need to use protective rubber gloves to sweep them up due to the levels of mercury contained in them. Plus, we should not place the shards in our usual household bin but take them to the council refuse centre.
OK then. Being environmentally-friendly sure is a chore these days!
