One of the most heartwarming - and fascinating - stories I have ever read was from last week. Maybe a new method has been discovered for bringing loved one’s out of a life threatening coma.
Yvonne Sullivan, 28, suffered blood poisoning and blacked out after being told her newborn son had died during a traumatic labour and birth. She was taken to intensive care where Dominic, her husband, kept vigil for two weeks. I mean how would terrible would this be…for anyone?
When doctors told the husband they might have to switch off her lifesupport machine, he sprang into action. Holding his wife’s hand, he told her: “You start fighting, don’t you dare give up on me now. I’ve had enough, stop mucking around and start breathing. Come back to me.”
Guess what?…two hours later she started breathing on her own! after five days she was taken off the respirators and now she is back at home and recovering well after her ordeal. Her husband brought her back to life with a good telling off…what better words of love in such a case?
All the very best to them.

Eat your vegies…the orange and purple ones as well as the green
February 22, 2008 on 11:38 am | In Culture | No CommentsHow many of us actually like to eat their vegies? No, I’m not talking about those starchy peas and potatoes but your broccoli’s and your cauliflowers? We eat them because we have to…right? but getting the kids to eat them is another matter but how would they go if these vegies were all the colours of the rainbow?
Actually they are! rainbow caulies are now on the market and not only do they look very pretty but they are also said to be alot healthier as well.
Apparently they are NOT a result of any genetical engineering but a result of years of careful selective cultivation; even so, they are proving to be a hit with shoppers in Europe and they are now being launched on the UK market. I wonder what Jamie Oliver will find to do with these pretty specimens?
