You really have to watch your kids with this one guys, especially as it involves free downloads of Grand Theft Auto IV. Computer hackers are enticing people into free downloads of bogus versions of the game via the internet.
What has been discovered is that the downloads carry ‘Trojan’ viruses which, if downloaded to your PC, can cause havoc. Games enthusiasts are going into overdrive about this particular game which has mean’t open go for these cyber-vandals.
These viruses gain ‘back door’ access to your files and steal your personal information. So avoid this like the plague and buy the game instead.

Look after those tools guys!
May 13, 2008 on 8:32 am | In Miscellaneous, Technology | No CommentsAs we live in an agricultural area we see a wide variety of farm machinery both on properties and on the roads. The local workshop in the village does a brisk trade in fixing the various tools and tractors that break down and this is often due to the fact that, to save money, the workers hang onto old equipment.
This is not only costly but dangerous. Guys, take a good look around your workshop or factory and do an inventory on what needs replacing and if any maintenance is long overdue. Better still go for a company that specialises in selling and servicing such brands as festool.

Our SatNav already does this!
May 13, 2008 on 8:16 am | In Technology | No CommentsJust reading an article in the UK about how SatNavs will soon be able to warn the driver when he/she goes over the speed limit. We bought ours last Xmas and it already has this technology - when we are driving along and go ever so slightly over the speed limit it emits a ‘beep beep’ to warn us.
So this is certainly not news to us…we bought ours in Europe so maybe the UK is a little behind right now.
