Time to start the clear out

As we have our place on the market for sale we are keeping our fingers crossed that by Xmas this year we will be in a whole new location. We have a few ideas of where we wish to buy our next home and one of the ‘must haves’ will be a good sized yeard for the kids to play in - just as they have here.
So, we have been making a start on the sorting process - what to take and what to ditch. Better late than never though as last time we left things too late and at the last minute we were not getting to bed until way after midnight packing boxes and all that stuff.
We sure have collected a lot of stuff in past four years and it is surprising just how hard it is to toss out things that the kids have outgrown, such as baby clothes, toys and even that long lost dummy.
So it seems that by the time we eventually move out we will be taking pretty much everything that we came with; we are not great at throwing things away.

What happens when you cannot afford to marry in the UK?
May 7, 2008 on 5:48 pm | In Culture, Miscellaneous, Travel | No CommentsYou simply go abroad! well, that’s what the growing trend is these days when you consider the rising costs of weddings in the UK. I have friends who married under a palm tree in St Lucia - no veils or penguin suits - she wore flowers in her hair and he wore sandals on his feet on the sand.
Believe it or not a really economical place to hold a wedding is Las Vegas; another friend of mine chose from a selection of vegas hotels and flew the family over for the big day. The total cost £4000! including airfares, accommodation and wedding breakfast. Okay, the photographer was extra but you could always ask the guests to collectively pay for that service in lieu of a stash of gifts.
