Stonehenge - riddle solved at last !

May 29, 2008 on 7:36 pm | In Culture, Science Fiction Technology | No Comments

The riddle of Stonehenge, that amazing puzzle that has truly captured the imagination of historians and scientists for many centuries, may finally have been solved. But how…?

Archaeologists have new evidence that the monument was built as a cemetery for influential Stone Age Britons and could even have been the burial ground for a long forgotten prehistoric royal family. The findings come from the first radiocarbon dating of charred human teeth and bones discovered at the site in the 1950s.

The detailed tests show that the bones were buried about 3000BC - the same time that Stonehenge was being created on England’s Salisbury Plain. The puzzle of Stonehenge has deeply intrigued historians for just on 2,000 years. More is known about the origins of the Moon than the world’s most famous stone circle.  Little is known about the human creators of Stonehenge - possibly farmers living at the end of the stone age and the start of the Bronze Age era’s.  They lived in villages made from wattle and ’clay’ houses - a mixture of chalk, plaster and used pottery.

Parents take note: scrap the PC connection or face the consequences

May 29, 2008 on 7:30 pm | In Culture | No Comments

British mother Amanda Hudson, owner of a £4 million ‘pad’ in Spain’s Marbella resort, decided to allow her precocious, overly-indulged and overly spoilt 15 year old daughter-from-hell, JODIE, a lavish 16th birthday party recently. She allowed her underaged daughter to hold the bash at the family’s expensive property in Spain. Of course, noresponible parents were involved in the arrangements…she was turning 16 after all…

What she did not count on was that her sweet little innocent daughter Jodie-babe had an online database of over 400 ‘friends’ on FACEBOOK who were well acquainted with Jodie’s ‘assets’ and ‘friendly nature’. Jodie loved uploading pics of herself in various stages of undress, despite the fact that she was underage when the pics were taken, and thus acquired quite a following among the social losers who inhabit such sites.

Her little girl announced her ‘party’ arrangements on FaceBook and Bebo whereby over 400 ‘uninvited’ guests arrived and proceeded to completely trash the property. Drunken incontinent teenagers lay everywhere, damage to the property, theft of household items - the place was ransacked. The multi-million pound property is now uninhabitable.

This is one British mother who has learned the hard way that she has not raised her daughter to be the young lady she thought she had raised. I am sure that Amanda Hudson saw quite enough that night of what her ‘little girl’ is capable of doing…I only hope she has not seen Jodies pictures on FaceBook…!
