The end of the Simpson’s sofa?

Ever watched the opening credits of the Simpsons and seen how they all squeeze onto that sofa to watch the television? I have known people who do exactly the same thing - the whole family sit elbow to elbow on the sofa and one or two kids on the floor.
As many people now have those home theatre systems there has to be, of course, furniture to go with them and now you can get home theater chairs. I wonder if the Simpsons will ever get around to owning them…or will they continue to jam themselves onto that sofa…?

What do you do to earn pocket money?
July 3, 2008 on 11:20 am | In Culture, Finance | No CommentsYou know what pocket money is…it is supposed to be money that you put in your pocket for yourself and not pay bills with it nor bank it either.
But how many people these days manage to do that? I had a friend who was always trying to find new ways of making herself some extra money. One time she decided to venture out and make pet beds - those baskets with the cushions for pampered pets. She run up a few and sold them quickly at the local weekend markets.
It was a great idea until one of those huge pet supermarkets opened nearby and sold the same items…at half the price she was charging for her handmade efforts. Despite that fact that they put her out of business at the markets she ended up selling them on consignment at the shop. So it worked out in the end.

I wonder how many new years resolutions have lasted…
July 3, 2008 on 11:15 am | In Culture | No CommentsI also wonder how many people even remember making one at all…? we made one ourselves to get fit for this year and so far we have managed to stick to our goal. Okay, so we have not exercised as often as we planned to but we still have managed to do the fat burning thing and even build muscle along the way.
I find that just doing basic work around the house is just as good as going to any gym so long as you make it a regular part of your day.
