We are somewhat of a multi-cultural family. Nothing along the exotic lines though, but the result is that our kids have a range of different nationalities and a couple of them have a passport for at least two different countries.

For instance; three kids were born in Australia and so they hold Australian passports. The younger two; one was born in Northern Ireland and holds a British, Irish and - soon - an Australian passport. The youngest was born in France and holds a British, Irish and - is entitled to hold in the future - not just and Australian one but a French passport as well!

Going on a holiday certainly makes for a very interesting time when passing through immigration points!

Halloween parties

September 22, 2008 on 10:14 am | In Culture | No Comments

The Halloween season is a relatively new innovation to me; where I hail from we never did the trick or treating thing each year but now it seems it is catching on as the thing to do.

If you dont think too much about the real meaning behind it - my Mum totally disagrees with it - it gives the kids a bit of fun so long as Mum or Dad keep an eye on proceedings. You have to be careful these days with the kids out at night so maybe getting some Halloween invitations and letting the littlies have a party at home instead would be the way to go.
