Standing on the shoulder’s of God

You cannot help but be excited about the greatest scientific experiment in history which is just about ready to get underway as I write.
At CERN in Geneva the LHC will be put into operation and, hopefully, the results will give us a look at something man never thought he would ever see…how the universe began. To date only one ‘being’ knew what actually happened - God. And I wonder just what God is thinking right now - is he guiding those scientists along the way; will God allow us to see just how things were done…?
While the results that will come out of all this won’t be related in any way to the ’seven days of creation’ theory that the Bible would have us believe, it will tell us that, if God really DID create the universe in seven days, he did it without the LHC and HOW he did it could never, ever be replicated by mankind.
The atheists will be as openminded as ever, the theologians will be as bible-quoting as ever. But one thing is sure - we are standing at the threshold of a whole new age. We are about to find out how it all began - the only question that may never be answered though is…’why’.
But give them time.

A great device for allergy sufferers
September 7, 2008 on 9:26 am | In Miscellaneous, Technology | No CommentsI just saw these great little inventions, Austin Air air purifiers, advertised and I wonder how long it will be before they become standard inclusions in hotels. If you suffer from allergies, as many people do these days, they would really benefit those hotels which accept pets in the rooms.
Just recently we stayed in a hotel where the previous occupants left their mark in the form of pungent perfume smells and the room had not been properly aired. I am not usually allergic to anything but I spent the night sneezing my head off!

Remember when TV’s had knobs?
September 7, 2008 on 9:20 am | In Miscellaneous, Technology | No CommentsWe are looking to update our TV - the one we currently have was purchased back in 2002 and just six years ago it was the top of the range. But going around the electrical stores these days it is plain and obvious just how TV’s have changed and how out of date our ‘old’ JVC has become.
Our old JVC does not have knobs and it was the first TV I had which was fully remote controlled - I prefer the old ‘knob’ variety - simply because if the remote gets broken, or the batteries die, you are stuck.
Now we are having to choose between plasma screens and the new pop up tv which look certainly look great…but look to be a nightmare to learn how to use!
