It seems as though there is a new drug to aid weightloss every week now. The one’s that seem to get the most results though are those which ‘push fat through the body’. The latest one to promise this is alli and it works by excreting fatty substances through the digestive tract.

The thing about this drug is that it works best when taken while eating fatty meals…!

AIDS; not a new thing - but longevity is.

We all remember the advent of AIDS back in the early 1980’s. We also remember the appalling prejudice that certain members of the community were subjected to as a result. Well, it appears that AIDS was not a thing of the 80’s but was actually identified as a disease back in the late 19th century.

We all know now that this terrible virus was passed onto humans via chimpanzee’s and this aspect was discovered as early as 1938 with the disease being described as early as 1908. Thanks to the power of the media in the early 80’s human beings were treated as pariah’s - just like leper’s used to be treated. Appallingly and disgustingly.

On the other hand, the UK now has shown a significant increase in people living to see their 100th birthday. In 1909 there were just 115 centagenarians - today there are over 15,000 who have received their telegram from the Queen. There are explanations for this; better nutrition, better healthcare, advances in medial science. Old people today retain a fantastic memory for the past and this has to be down to the way things were around the mid-century mark.

Fresh food; no chemical additives, no artificial additives - unlike today. It seems we are going backwards as we now have children with allergies to everything, behavioural disorders, kids maturing far earlier than they should be via our meat being hormonally treated.

Makes you wonder just where we all will be in 50 years time…
