Time for taps…
December 7, 2008 on 4:48 pm | In Culture | No CommentsWe are in the middle of renovating our two bathrooms and one of the main points of conjecture between ‘us’ has been the choice of accessories and fittings. Or more to the point – MY choice of accessories and fittings.
I am the more practical half of the duo and am also the one who has to CLEAN the bathrooms so I figure it is only fair that I get to choose which fittings will work best.
I have chosen to install Grohe faucets for the sinks and showers but the ‘other half’ tends to opt for something more fancy. ‘Fancy’ is nice – but not always a breeze to clean.
I think I am right on this issue…

Smile and the world smiles with you…so they say
December 7, 2008 on 4:38 pm | In Culture | No CommentsIt’s official…according to scientists. If you maintain a ‘happy’ front then it will spread and infect all those around you.
According to one of the largest studies ever carried out, happiness really does rub off on other people. It showed that happiness can spread through social groups and the closer you are to someone with a sunny disposition, the more likely you are to be happy as well!
A cousin in Canada recently showed this; she sent us photos of her recent wedding – they invited 250 guests! – and obviously the happiness of the occasion had spread to everyone. There they all stood – in tuxedos and evening gowns (it was a formal wedding this one) smiling and beaming at the camera.
If there is one thing we need to be contagious these days it is ‘happiness’ for sure

Beware of Koobface
December 7, 2008 on 4:31 pm | In Technology | No CommentsWhenever there is talk of all of computer viruses I find myself tuning out – the whole issue confuses me too much. I know not to open weird emails or attachments and I have the best spyware software installed here but this latest virus might need some attention.
Facebookers have been targeted by a virus called Koobface. As a very casual Facebooker myself – and I mean VERY casual – I decided to heed the warnings anyway.
If one of your ‘friends’ get infected then chances are you will too – that’s how it works. So what you have to do is contact those people in your groups and warn them about this issue.
