My advice…go back to road maps!

July 4, 2009 on 1:15 pm | In Travel | No Comments

We have just completed a major road trip through France, Spain and Italy and the one huge headache we had was following the new navigator that we bought recently. I have since wondered how many marriages have foundered since these new gps systems became commonplace in people’s cars…?

We got lost so many times, ended up on rural roads, farm tracks and private drives that in the end we gave up and got out the good old road map. At least it doesn’t talk at you in some annoying voice!

Planning a move to the States?

July 4, 2009 on 1:10 pm | In Culture | No Comments

A while back when we met up with a couple who were on holiday from North Carolina they told us about the state in such detail that it made us have some thoughts about making a possible move there – some day in the future of course. Not right now…

We looked up mostly coastal properties to do with Wilmington NC real estate as we prefer the seaside for the kids – nothing doing right now in terms of buying anything but certainly liked what is on offer. I suspect a vacation there will help us make up our minds though.

Do you ever revise your health plan?

July 4, 2009 on 1:04 pm | In Culture | No Comments

Many people, especially the young, make the mistake of not revising their health cover once they start working into their twenties. Our circumstances change as we go through life and the cover we have at 25 is not necessarily what we need at 35…

Looking around at other options offered by those, for example by Blue Cross North Carolina , can help you to ascertain where your needs lie now and may do in the future. If you are planning on getting married and starting a family it is a must.
