Libraries are the life and soul of the community.

I get really angry when I read about councils closing down libraries and recently I have seen that our city council is proposing the closure of 13 libraries in our region. I am furious about this. To me libraries are places of worship – they are places of culture and learning, you can read a book or newspaper in relaxed surroundings and know you wont be hurried to leave.

Closing libraries also mean the loss of jobs – how many librarians will still be around in ten years time…will being a librarian still be a career choice in ten years time? not at this rate!

We need libraries – we do NOT need these administrators and bureaucrats taking these vital services away from the community!
