Xmas with a difference…

November 25, 2010 on 8:21 pm | In Culture | No Comments

This year we are in the middle of major house renovations soooo we decided that we could either plan to do Xmas around the upheaval OR we could simply pack up the family and spend a few days of the festive season away from all the scaffolding and the sound of drills.

We are lucky enough to live relatively close to the countryside and so we have booked the Xmas break at cottage on a country manor estate. For a great price we get a cosy country cottage with log fire, TV, log furniture and even the sight and sound of cows and sheep in the surrounding fields. The owner of the estate is even throwing in a visit from Santa for the children of those of us renting cottages on his property on Xmas Eve!

Okay so it might be cold, it will be raining no doubt, maybe even snowing…but it will be something different from what we normally do – and I am looking forward to it!
