A fun way to get the kids to read

June 12, 2008 on 4:23 pm | In Culture, Miscellaneous | No Comments

We spend a lot of time reading to our youngest kids a wide variety of childrens stories and have made it a regular bedtime routine for them. The effort is paying off as they both love books and are always enthusiastic when we bring out a new one for them to read.

Our aim is to have the three year old reading by the time he is four and starts school; one way you can also achieve this is to make it more interesting for them by ordering them a children’s book which is personalized – meaning their name appears in the story throughout the book.  ‘Kids Personally’ offer such books as well as DVD’s and music which can feature your child. Brilliant idea in my opinion. It does not add so much as a ‘novelty’ to reading and music but makes it fun and allows your child to easily identify with a story or song.

They love it and these books, DVD’s etc also make a great keepsake.
