Staying at a holiday resort…? read the small print - if it’s there.

I recently read a story about a british family who went on holiday to Greece. They booked two weeks at an expensive resort with wonderful childrens playground facilities - all shown in the glossy brochures - and arrived expecting to have the time of their lives.
They then got a shock. The childrens facilities were reserved only for the use of the children of the German guests; in fact, much of the resort had areas only for the use of German guests. Now, of you have paid several thousand to stay at a resort you expect to be able to use the entire establishment. I know most people realise that when Germans are around you have to race to bag a pool sunlounger at sunrise - at dawn you see all their towels covering the outdoor furniture covers on the poolside chairs but gradually resort owners are starting to ban this kind of thing.
But being told you cannot use the childrens playground because you are not German…? It is one thing reading the small print, but what if there was no small print to read?

What happens when you cannot afford to marry in the UK?
May 7, 2008 on 5:48 pm | In Culture, Miscellaneous, Travel | No CommentsYou simply go abroad! well, that’s what the growing trend is these days when you consider the rising costs of weddings in the UK. I have friends who married under a palm tree in St Lucia - no veils or penguin suits - she wore flowers in her hair and he wore sandals on his feet on the sand.
Believe it or not a really economical place to hold a wedding is Las Vegas; another friend of mine chose from a selection of vegas hotels and flew the family over for the big day. The total cost £4000! including airfares, accommodation and wedding breakfast. Okay, the photographer was extra but you could always ask the guests to collectively pay for that service in lieu of a stash of gifts.

As large parts of Europe become ideal options for buying reasonably priced properties there has been a wave of folk moving abroad and settling in new countries. One thing that you need to address is how to actually get all your household items from one country to another - a hassle which can cause headaches when you are just moving down the street, but when you are going overseas?…
You need to call in the experts to handle the logistics for such an undertaking. People who are moving overseas can find all the assistance they need with International Movers. Like many other companies now they have offices that are not just local; they can be found all over the world and also offer services such insurance, advice on moving and general how-to-do-it tips.
If you take a look at their site you will find an easy quote finder - just enter in your details, where you are moving to, when and how much you are moving (generally) and you will be given an idea of what you are up for costs-wise. This should take a lot of the usual stress out of the whole thing.
