The beautiful new aircraft, A380, touched down at London Heathrow this week with 471 very satisfied passengers on baord the Singpore Airlines flight. They had paid up to £7000 each for the privilege of their plush seat. I can understand this, I too would pay this for a ride on this plane…if I had it to spend that is.

This plane has a duty-free shop on board as well as a bar and bedrooms for the passengers who can afford to pay the price for them. I cannot say that I would opt for this plane for a short haul flight but if I was travelling to, say, Australia or New Zealand I would certainly consider it!

Holiday apartments vs hotels

March 3, 2008 on 2:20 pm | In Miscellaneous, Travel | No Comments

When we go on holiday we prefer, where we can manage it, to rent a holiday apartment or villa rather than stay in a hotel. Why? because this kind of accommodation gives you so much more freedom than the four walls of a hotel room can offer. The kids like to have space to play and move around and you yourself always prefer to have some space around you as well. If you were holidaying in a romantic location such as Mexico - by the sea and in full view of sunsets, wouldn’t you prefer to see it all from a villa?

There is ample choice for this option and just looking at Rocky Point vacation homes here are prime examples of what you could be in store for on your next holiday. A complete change of scenery, luxury surrounds and a great choice of beautiful properties to choose from. These look fantastic and would suit any type of getaway - family, romantic or just a break from your usual life and environment.  Oceano specialise in rentals in this region and are on hand to assist you get the most of your money and holiday.

Thunderbirds are go!

February 2, 2008 on 7:09 pm | In Technology, Travel | No Comments

Ever wanted to be a real Thunderbird? maybe it would be a bit weird after all they were wooden puppets if you remember. However, you will one day be able to take a ride around the world in an airship called Thunderbird 2. 700 ft long it is going to gently float around the globe in the sky ( of course ) and travellers will be able to go along for the ride.

The airship is a floating hotel called the Manned Cloud, and - according to its designers - it will be capable of circling the globe in a few days. The 20 bedrooms will provide the ultimate room with a view as the airship cruises at a height of 18,000ft.  It has a restaurant, a library, a lounge and a gym on the first deck.

On the second level there will be 20 passenger rooms, terraces with panoramic windows, a spa and a bar room. The airship is powered by a giant rear propeller and also has two further engines pointing downwards for vertical take-off.

However, if you’re thinking of checking in, you will have to wait until its expected launch date of 2020. Oh well, I guess considering the cost of those tickets we will all need until then to save up!
