Ever watched National Velvet?
February 7, 2008 on 9:47 pm | In Culture |If you have ever seen the film National Velvet you will know the story…how a simple child rode her home-trained horse on to victory at the world famous Grand National horse race in England.
No-one in the film would ever have placed a bet on ‘The Pie’ winning that race, so how would you fare picking a winner? Elizabeth Taylor may not be riding in the race, nor Mickey Rooney acting as trainer, nor may there be a typical Holloywood outcome…but someone has to win and someone has to back the winner.
