‘In case of damage please inform the management’

If you run a hotel or similar type accommodation then you will lost likely have such a sign on the back of the doors of your guest rooms. The message is quite clear; if something breaks tell the owner - DON’T try and fix it yourself!!

It is surprising how many people completely ignore this piece of advice. In the past couple of years we have discovered this and very often to great cost. Broken bed bases; light fixtures pulled out of walls and ceilings and hidden in cupboards when the DIY job did not work.  Even some people think it is fine to write with a felt pen using just the quilt cover as a place to rest the paper - just try getting that fluoro ink out of  a sheet!

Chairs with snapped legs; cords yanks out of their sockets…the list could go on and on. Please, if you are going to be a guest in a hotel and break something don’t try and fix it yourself OR try to hide it. We DO find out!
