Prof Stephen Hawking in hospital and very ill…
April 20, 2009 on 6:15 pm | In Late news | No CommentsPrayers needed right now for ‘Man in a Million’ Professor Stephen Hawking who is currently seriously ill in Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.

This great genius has worked at The University of Cambridge’s Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics for more than 30 years and since 1979 has been the University’s Lucasian Professor of Mathematics.
He is one of the world’s longest surviving sufferers of Motor Neurone Disease and has astounded medical science since he developed the condition in the 1960’s as a student.
His findings and writings have not only posed many questions but also answered those which mankind always sought to find solutions to; he is the epitome of the quiet achiever and he surely stands as one of the greatest minds to have lived. His book ‘A Brief History of Time’ changed the way we view the universe and challenged previously published theories.
In 1982 Professor Hawking was awarded a CBE before becoming a Companion of Honour in 1989 and is a Fellow of the Royal Society. He has three children and one grandchild and has even guest starred on The Simpsons!
Now another big question for that great British Establishment – where is the Knighthood…?
Get well Stephen and we will see you in that tuxedo in Buckingham Palace soon!
