Reading matter

December 13, 2007 on 9:59 am | In Culture, Miscellaneous |

We are great readers in this house and as a result we have managed to build up quite a collection of old and out of date magazines. Just doing a clear out recently I was adding up just how much we actually spend buying the magazines on a weekly basis. I have come to the conclusion that maybe a magazine subscription or two would save us a bit of money. Being selective would be an idea too as we tend to impulse buy leading to a lot of useless mags building up that only get read once and then put aside.

I was thinking of a subscription to New Scientist from the magazine group as a Xmas treat for myself this year; I enjoy the articles and plus the kids can use the information for school projects. There’s a lot of reading in this magazine and it is one of those that you can put down and pick up again over a period of time.  Magazines are tending to cost almost as much as some books now so the one’s that have the most content seem to be the best investment.
